A few lies by Mr. President

THOU SHALL NOT LIE MR PRESIDENT: Mr President said to Nigerians in his 52nd Independence day speech that Transparency International has endorsed and commended his administration’s war against corruption….THIS IS A BLACK LIE!!!

Transparency International does not have a recent rating or report that places Nigeria as the second most improved country in the fight against corruption.

Transparency International most recent indexing of Nigeria’s corruption activities was in the 2011 Corruption Perceptions Index, which measured perceived level of public sector corruption in the country.
In that index, Nigeria scored 2.4 on a scale where 0 means highly corrupt and 10 means very clean. Nigeria was ranked 143 out of 183 countries. That rating was actually a dip in performance for Nigeria as the country was rated 134 out of 183 countries the previous year, 2010. http://bit.ly/SyQqgA

ANOTHER EXAGGERATED STATISTIC BY MR PRESIDENT IN HIS 52ND DAY INDEPENDENCE SPEECH. MR PRESIDENT SAID: ”Nigeria has become the preferred destination for investment in Africa” THIS IS NOT TRUE! GHANA IS THE FASTEST GROWING ECONOMY IN WEST AFRICA AT THE MOMENT OVERTAKING NIGERIA.

BY RANKING IN TERMS OF FDI (FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT) SOUTH AFRICA IS NO1, NIGERIA IS NO2 AND GHANA NO3. BUT THAT DOES NOT MAKE NIGERIA ”THE PREFERRED DESTINATION FOR INVESTMENT IN AFRICA AS MR PRESIDENT OR AS HIS SPEECH WRITERS HAVE EXAGGERATED! CHECK THE UNCTAD WEBSITE FOR FDI STATISTICS: http://bit.ly/QmBCD7
